Actively serving the people of the greater Sacramento area and northern California.
To actively serve the people of the greater Sacramento area and Northern California by making philanthropic grants and providing services that contribute to the health and vitality of the community.
The Gately Foundation provides grants and scholarships to fund programs, projects and charitable community service organizations for medical, literary, or educational purposes. In addition, we strongly support endeavors associated with the prevention of cruelty to animals, by groups and individuals in the greater Sacramento and Northern California region.
The Foundation is committed to supporting organizations and projects with an established system of accountability.
The intent of The Gately Foundation is to give back to the Northern California community, particularly the Sacramento Region, by supporting the:
1. Advancement of medical science, education and charitable activities.
2. Enrichment of the lives of children.
3. Prevention of cruelty to animals.
It is the hope of James and Dawn Gately that the Gately family be involved and participate in the Foundation and that it becomes a legacy for generations of Gatelys that follow. It is the intention of the donors that causes are supported that will grow and make a substantial impact not only in the Sacramento region, but Northern California and elsewhere. It is our intention that the Foundation continue to grow and promote the Foundation’s Mission.

The Foundation believes in funding programs that support the development of programs associated with the following:
1. Promoting and encouraging members of the community, particularly young people, in the advancement of charitable actions in general, as well as medical science, literary and other educational purposes.
2. Enriching the lives of children.
3. Preventing cruelty to animals.
The overhead expenses of the Gately Foundation are minimal, less than .25 of one percent of its assets. The Executive Director and Board of Directors receive no financial compensation for their participation. All of the Foundation’s services are donated including; staffing, rent and overhead. It is the Foundation’s intent to give as much of its available assets to the community as possible.
